MARYVILLE, Tenn. — Maryville College student-athletes delivered another strong showing in the classroom during the Fall 2025 semester, posting an overall athletics department grade point average of 3.19.
The Scots' academic success was highlighted by the cross country programs, as Men's Cross Country recorded the highest GPA among men's teams with a 3.41, while Women's Cross Country led all women's programs with an outstanding 3.77 team GPA.
In addition, 35 Maryville College student-athletes completed the Fall 2025 semester with a perfect 4.00 GPA, reflecting the dedication, discipline, and balance required to excel both academically and athletically.
"I am so proud of our student-athletes and their continued success in the classroom," Sr. Associate AD Brittney Washington said. "Academic excellence is a common phrase that we use in our department and throughout campus and our athletes are doing just that. Athletic skills and accolades are obviously important to us as coaches and administrators, but what means more than anything is their academic success and performance. Whether it's a personal increase in GPA, an overall team increase in GPA, or adding to our number of student-athletes with a perfect 4.0 GPA it all means so much to the overall goal and vision of Maryville College Athletics. Again, I'm so proud of our athletes they truly deserve this time away to spend with friends and family but I cannot wait to have them back on campus to hit the ground running to have a great spring semester."
Maryville College Athletics remains committed to fostering an environment where academic achievement and athletic competition go hand in hand, preparing student-athletes for success during their time at Maryville College and beyond.
