BEREA, Ky. — Maryville College made a strong showing at the Landon Bond Classic, with standout performances across multiple events. The Scots were led by senior sprinter
Clarence McLean, who clinched victories in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes, posting times of 10.84 and 22.18 seconds, respectively.
Held at Berea's athletic facilities, the meet saw Maryville's athletes excel in several disciplines. The men's 4x100 relay team, comprising Malik Casseus, Jaden Tisby,
Austin Umberger, and McLean, secured a second-place finish with a time of 43.59. With these results, the Scots continue to build a strong presence in the conference.
In middle distance, sophomore
James LeNeve delivered a solid performance by finishing fifth in the 1500 meters, clocking in at 4:18.80, and taking seventh in the 800 meters with a time of 2:03.05. Meanwhile,
Adyn Elliott shone in the distance category, earning second place in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a personal best of 10:25.62.
Tyler Tangel impressed in the 5000 meters, setting a new school record with a time of 16:16.16.
On the field, junior
Manny Palmer took third in both the long jump and triple jump with leaps of 6.42 meters and 12.87 meters, respectively. Freshman
Jackson Lakeman secured second in the pole vault, clearing 3.65 meters. In the throws, senior Sky Pleasant claimed victory in the shot put with a personal best of 14.02 meters and finished second in the discus at 38.44 meters.
Lukas Yackley set a school record in the javelin with a 43.56-meter throw.
