Maryville College promoted Jenny Massey to Head Athletic Trainer in July 2021. She added the title of Interim Senior Woman Administrator in January 2022, and the promotion became permanent in July of that year. She also serves as a Deputy Title IX Coordinator for the College.

Massey earned the full-time promotion after she played a large role in the formation of the new Collegiate Conference of the South.

In March 2025, Massey was invited and participated in the Division III Senior Woman Administrator Program at the NCAA headquarters in Indianapolis, where she further developed her leadership skills as an SWA. She was one of 27 distinguished women selected.

Massey is head of the league’s Health and Wellness Committee. She has served as a liaison between athletic training staffs from the member institutions and the conference administration team. Massey also has been instrumental in implementing a new weather safety system for the CCS.

Massey in her expanded role is the liaison between athletics and the Disability Resources and Compliance Office in Student Affairs. She also serves as the deputy Title IX Coordinator for the athletics department and serves on the MC Equity and Campus Violence Committee.

“I am excited to continue my work as the SWA,” Massey said. “I have truly enjoyed serving in such a special and important role, and I look forward to serving the Scots family as we strive for greatness.”

Massey joined the MC athletic training staff in August 2020 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer, and she excelled amid the pandemic caring for Maryville's 380-plus student-athletes.

She is a 2009 graduate of Tusculum College and a native of Limestone in upper East Tennessee.

Massey is a Certified Athletic Trainer and attained her State of Tennessee Licensure and American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification in 2011. She maintains professional associations with the National Athletic Trainers' Association, Southeast Athletic Trainers' Association in District IX, and Tennessee Athletic Trainers' Association.

Massey has accumulated a variety of experiences featuring injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation. She has worked within Orthopedic clinics, high schools, and colleges since 2005. She came to Maryville College after spending nine seasons as the Head Athletic Trainer at Farragut High School in Knoxville.
