Doug Corbett

Doug Corbett was named Maryville College's first full-time men's and women's tennis head coach in April 2021. He was identified as the candidate excited to grow the tennis program within the NCAA Division III philosophy.

Corbett's credentials and experience stood out through the interview process, as did his extensive background in DIII athletics.

Before coming to Maryville, Corbett served as the assistant tennis coach at Mary Washington of the Coast to Coast Conference. Since joining the Eagles in 2017, Corbett helped Mary Washington to a 66-20 overall record with a pair of NCAA tournament appearances. Each squad was nationally ranked as high as No.12 in NCAA Division III. In 2018, Corbett was named the ITA Southeast Assistant Coach of the Year.

As an undergraduate, Corbett was a four-year member of the Randolph College men's tennis program from 2013-17. His leadership was developed as a two-time team captain for the Wildcats. He served as an intern for the head coach at Randolph, and has worked at several prestigious camps. He graduated from Randolph in 2017 with a degree in Sports and Exercise studies, with a minor in Psychology.

"I feel honored to have received the opportunity to be the head coach for Maryville College Men's and Women's tennis," Corbett said. "There is a ton of potential to make significant strides within both programs. I am really excited to work with current and future student-athletes and strive for a positive student-athlete experience. Maryville is a great school, with a strong athletic department, in a beautiful location. I would like to thank each of the coaches and staff members I met with when I visited the campus. Each one of them gave me further confidence that this is a special place where success can be had on and off the court. I cannot wait to get started."

He is married to assistant coach Jenna Corbett.
