Alex Slocum continues to shine as Maryville College’s versatile athletics administrator.

Director of Athletics Sara Quatrocky announced in August 2022 that Slocum was promoted to Associate Athletics Director for Facilities, Game Operations and Campus Recreation. He had been serving as an Assistant Athletics Director since joining the Scots in June 2021.
 
Slocum’s new responsibilities have him overseeing campus recreation and intramurals in addition to his management of athletic facilities and game operations.  He also supports the department by overseeing student employment, sport performance, contract administration, strategic planning, budget planning and personnel oversight.
 
Since joining the MC athletic department, Slocum has redefined the student employment experience in the athletic department by employing dozens of students on campus in various roles that support day-to-day athletic department operations, game operations, and athletic communications jobs.
  
A native of Dallas, Pennsylvania, Slocum stayed in-state and graduated first from Shippensburg University in 2013 and then from Kutztown University in 2014 with his Master of Business Administration. He gained extensive experience in athletic communications at Shippensburg, Kutztown and Lynn University in Florida before moving to collegiate facility and operations leadership in 2019.
 
Slocum came to Maryville after serving Lewis-Clark State College in Idaho as its Director of Athletic Facilities and Operations.
