Box Score Through an evenly played game on the pitch, the Scots of Covenant College beat the Scots of Maryville College 2-0 on Tuesday evening on the campus of Maryville College.
Throughout the first half, most of the action took place in the midfield with neither team able to establish itself. However in the second half Covenant College was able to find another gear scoring goals in the 63rd and 78th minutes of action.
"We just flat out weren't good enough tonight," said head coach Pepe Fernandez. "We have glimpses of where we want to go and think we have the ability to get there, but tonight wasn't one of those nights. We played a good team from Covenant and we didn't get the job done."
The loss drops Maryville to 3-6-1 on the year. The Scots will host Piedmont on Saturday at 6:00 pm in a pivotal USA South contest.
