Box Score Maryville was able to score a pair of late goals and defeat LaGrange 2-0 in their first USA South men's soccer contest.
The first half lacked scoring, but Maryville had the better of the play. Maryville registered ten shots to five for LaGrange as well as having a 3-1 advantage in corner kicks.
In the second half, Maryville was sparked to victory by Alex Waddell goal from David Large in the 81st minute. David Lethco would add an insurance goal just a minute later from Patrick Braxton. Ben Munger was outstanding once again allowing zero goals while stopping all three shots that LaGrange College put on frame.
"We are still learning how to finish games and Alex and David came up real big for us tonight," said assistant coach Jon Baker. "Munger was once again excellent in goal keeping LaGrange off the board."
The win brings the Scots to 2-1-1 on the year and 1-0 in USA South competition. Maryville will be back in action tomorrow when they host The University of the South at 4:00 pm.
