Box Score The Maryville Scots ran into a red hot opponent in Greensboro College on Senior day at Maryville falling to their USA South opponent by a final score of 90-79. Greensboro hit 10 of 14 three point attempts in the first half while building their lead to 53-38.
After trailing by as many as 19 points in the second half, Maryville battleld back and cut the margin to only five with just over two minutes remaining in the game. Greensboro was then able to ice the victory with clutch free throw shooting down the stretch.
The Scots had four players score in double figures in their 2012-13 home finale. Joey Bodewig lead the Scots in scoring with 21 points on 10 of 12 shooting from the field. Oscar Butler put up 14 points to go along with five rebounds and a game high eight assists. Jaumonee Byrd scored 11 and Wes lambert, the teams lone senior was also in double figures with 10 in his final home game. Point guard Christian Ford contributed seven assists.
The Scots will close out the 2012-13 regular season with a road trip to Virginia next weekend. Saturday the Scots will face Ferrum and then on Sunday they will finish up the season at Averett.
