Box Score The Maryville College women's basketball team moved to 4-1 on the season with a 76-58 road victory over Salem College in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on Wednesday evening.
The Scots used a 27-point, 10-rebound double-double effort by All-American Mackenzie Puckett to push past the Spirit. Puckett was 12-for-16 from the floor. Maryville's offensive attack was also supported by Jordan Ballard who added 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting. Joanna Young and Lauren Trent tossed in ten and nine points each respectively. Linley Dunn cleaned up on the boards with a game-high 11 rebounds.
Salem (0-2) was led by Quantashea Lewis' 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting while Kristal Lollis added 12 points while hitting 4-of-9 shots.
"I feel we defended better in the second half and gave a consistent effort on the boards," stated MC Head Coach darrin Travillian. "We need to start valuing the basketball on a much higher level."
Maryville will host Birmingham Southern on December 14th in the Cooper Athletic Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 in the Boydson Baird Gymnasium.
