Box Score The Maryville College Scots ended their two-game losing skid on Saturday, as the Scots topped Berry College, 78-61, in Rome, Ga.
Maryville's bench led the way, scoring 73.1 percent of the Scots scoring, amassing 57 points in the contest. Maryville shot an incredible 50 percent from the field, while posting a 38.9-percent outing from beyond the arc.
Randy Lambert's Scots forced 26 Viking turnovers, taking advantage with the same amount of points off turnovers.
Spencer Shoffner made a statement, leading all scorers in the game with 18 points. Shoffner shot 6-of-12 from the field, while bucketing 4-of-8 from beyond the 3-point line.
Christian Ford scored 17 points, while Jaumonee Byrd and Logan Brewer added 10 each for the Scots. Sam Greene and Antonio Jackson each bucketed six points, Oscar Butler five, Jaylen Bowyer four and Spencer Peake two.
Butler led the way on the boards with nine rebounds for Maryville.
Nick Marder had 16 points off the bench for Berry College, while Owen Jacobs rounded out the double-digit scoring with 10.
Maryville moves to 4-3 on the young season, as they are set to travel to Johnson University on Friday, Dec. 12 for a 7 p.m. start in Knoxville. The Scots return home on Sunday, Dec. 14 for a 3 p.m. tipoff against Birmingham-Southern.
