The Maryville College softball Scots fell to 0-8 on the early season after dropping their final pair of challenges at the Rhodes College Invitational in Memphis on Sunday afternoon. The Scots fell to tournament host Rhodes College 4-1 before ending the weekend with a 3-1 loss against DePauw.
Maryville managed six hits against the Lynx in the first game led by Kalyn Jones. Jones went 2-for-3 with the lone MC RBI. Taylor Dockery, Kelci Swafford, Emilie Craven, and Tiffany Brand collected the remaining Scots hits. Lexie Randolph suffered the loss after throwing a complete game, scattering ten hits, and surrendering only a pair of earned runs.
The finale against DePauw saw MC collect only four hits. Megan Mihaliak, Taylor Dockery, Tiffany Brand, and Lexie Randolph tallied the Scots hits against the Tigers. Kayla Aloisi allowed only three earned runs on the mound after scattering eight hits in six innings of work.
The Scots will prepare for a non-conference challenge next weekend at Agnes Scott College.
