Box Score 2 The Maryville College softball team closed the 2014 campaign in memorable fashion. The Scots faced No.15 Emory University for a season ending twin bill. The nationally ranked Eagles defeated MC 10-1 in the first game, but the Scots took the nightcap with a 4-0 shutout.
In the series opener the Eagles connected for a dozen hits and ten runs while taking advantage of a pair of MC miscues. Kayla Aloisi suffered the loss on the mound after allowing seven earned runs. Maryville managed only four hits off the Eagle hurler. Taylor Dockery, Tiffany Brand, Kayla Aloisi, and Hannah Youngdeer each tallied a hit with Aloisi recording their only RBI with a solo homerun.
Maryville rebounded in the second challenge behind the arm of Lexie Randolph. Randolph earned her fifth win of the season by scattering nine hits and shutting out Emory's powerful offense.
Cydnee Morisette paced Maryville offense with a pair of doubles and a game-high two RBIs. Aloisi, Youngdeer, and Kalyn Jones each added a base hit. Jones and Brand each added an RBI to help MC's offensive attack.
The split moves Emory to 36-7 while Maryville completes their 2014 schedule with an 8-32 mark.
