Box Score Maryville College Men's Soccer fell to Brevard College on Wednesday night, as the Tornados rallied for a 3-1 final score.
Brevard outshot the Scots, 23-9, as Maryville found a trio of shots on goal to the Tornados 10.
Tristan Skelton scored his first goal of the season, while Mykal Manfred turned away seven saves in goal for the Scots.
Maryville got the scoring started first in the fifth minute, as Skelton collected a loose ball in the box. He collected it on the left side, directing a low shot into the left corner for a 1-0 score at the 4:17 mark.
Brevard got that goal back, however, in the 16th minute. Adam Spencer's shot was blocked into the box by a Maryville defender, as Vinicius Giannaccini collected the loose ball. He directed a low shot for a 1-1 score at 15:48.
Trystan Wallace would add the game-winner for Brevard in the 19th minute, as he collected it just outside the 18-yard line. Wallace dribbled past a defender before finding the lower left corner for the 2-1 score.
Brevard would add a third goal in the second half, as Ryan Lynch dribbled the end line. He avoided a pair of MC defenders, squeezing a shot into the lower right corner for the 3-1 final.
Skelton had the Scots only goal on one shot, as Austin Vinyard added two shots – both on frame. Caleb Platillero had a pair of shots for MC.
For Brevard, Giannaccini had a goal with two shots on goal, while Estevan Berto added a pair of shots on frame. Lynch and Wallace added goals for the Tornados.
Maryville College will travel to Spalding University on Sunday, March 14. First touch is slated for 3:00 p.m.
