Scots Record Second-Straight Win

Maryville Shuts Out Berea on Road

BEREA, Ky. -- Maryville picked up its second win of the season Tuesday night, defeating Collegiate Conference of the South opponent Berea 4-0.

The Scots offense put together a well-balanced attack, with four different players finding the back of the net for Maryville.

Ndubueze Henry picked up right where he left off on Saturday, scoring his third goal of the season and giving the Scots a 1-0 lead in the 34th minute.

Just two minutes later, Maryville extended its lead to 2-0 as Jacob Newton scored his first goal of the season in the 36th minute.

In the second half, the Scots continued to dominate the Mountaineers, extending their lead to 3-0 in the 59th minute with a goal from senior defender Jared Tomson. It was his first of the season and his first since his freshman year in 2019.

Just like the first half, Maryville increased its lead just two minutes later with a goal from Jorge Graniel, assisted by Tomson.

The Scots held possession for 57 percent of the game and finished the contest outshooting Berea 22-13.

Goalkeeper Mykal Manfred recorded four saves and collected his third shutout of the season.

After starting the season 0-4-5, the Scots have now won two straight and have a Collegiate Conference of the South record of 2-0-1.

The Scots return home Friday for a matchup against Asbury at 6 p.m. They then play Warren Wilson on Saturday in Asheville, North Carolina.
