WILMORE, Ky. – Hannah Smoot handed Maryville a first-half lead Thursday afternoon, but it didn't hold and the Scots played to a 1-1 draw at Asbury.
Smoot's goal came in the 41st minute. The first-year forward drove in from the left portion of the box and lulled her defender to sleep. She sped past and then chipped one of her patented left-footed shots from 12 yards over the keeper's head into the far netting.
It was Smoot's second goal of the season and her first since the win over Spalding back on Sept. 9.
Asbury's Hannah Muncie tied the match in the 76th minute when she volleyed home a perfect corner kick cross from 8 yards away. It was Asbury's only corner kick of the match.
Muncie's goal was her third of the season for the Eagles. Delaney Long delivered the cross from the corner flag and notched her first assist.
Maryville finished with a 30-9 edge in shots, a 21-6 margin in shots on goal and nine corner kicks to the lone attempt for the home side. Asbury goalkeeper Maliya Crump was credited with 20 saves.

Anabelle Procter contributed six shots, and four of those were on net. Smoot,
Avery Brown,
