Scots Win Big at Home

MARYVILLE - The Scots defeated Wesleyan 5-0 in Saturday's Collegiate Conference of the South matchup.
 
Maryville has now scored a combined 18 goals in their last four games, dating back to their 10-0 rout of Agnes Scott on September 25.
 
The Scots are now 8-0 against the Wolves and have yet to allow a goal in any of their matchups, outscoring them 47-0 since October 1, 2016.
 
All five of Maryville's goals were scored by a different player, with the first coming off the right foot of Sierra Lee in the fifth minute. For Lee, this marks her team-leading seventh goal of the season, putting her atop the CCS in that category.
 
Just three minutes later Phoebe Deering would score her first goal of the season, making it 2-0 Maryville.
 
The Scots would strike again in the 20^th minute, with Katie O'Brien finding the back of the net for her sixth goal of the year. Avery Brown recorded an assist on the play.
 
A 34th minute penalty kick goal by Grace McDonald extended the Scots lead once more, making it 4-0 at the end of the first half.
 
Maryville would find the net just once in the second half, extending their lead to 5-0 on a 46th-minute goal from Madalyn McCall, the first of her collegiate career.
 
The Scots put up a season-high 49 shots including 25 on goal.
 
Maryville is now 7-3-3 on the season, and 3-0-1 in conference play. They play again on Tuesday, taking on CCS opponent Covenant at home. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m.
