Three Scots on CSC Academic All-District

MARYVILLE – Maryville Football placed three team members on the 2022-23 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
 
Offensive linemen Jace Brittain, Trent Colburn and Eli Preswood made the team as regular contributors on the field and holders of a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or better in the classroom.
 
Colburn was one of two offensive linemen on the team to start all 10 games, and Preswood was an integral part of the offensive line rotation and made one start at Greensboro.
 
Brittain was a 2022 Team Captain who went on to earn his second All-USA South Second Team selection. He also is a two-time USA South Academic All-Conference honoree, including once with Distinction.
 
All three helped the Scots improve by 25 percent in total offense, going from 326.2 yards per game to 407.3.
