MARYVILLE - The Scots fought hard but came up short in a 72-65 loss against regional foe Berry. This marks the first time Maryville has lost to the Vikings, falling to 9-1 all-time.

Maryville has now lost five games in row. Following tonight's loss, the five teams that have beat them now have a combined record of 27-2.

Kordell Kah finished the game just a rebound away from his first double-double of the season. The senior picked up a career-high 19 points and grabbed 9 boards while also leading the team on defense as he recorded a team-high three steals.

Throughout the game, there were three ties, and nine lead changes, but Barry still held the lead for 33:30 compared to 3:35 for Maryville.

The game was close throughout. The largest lead of the contest came from Berry when they had an 11-point lead with 11:15 remaining in the second half. Even that wouldn't last long though, as the Scots went on a 16-5 run, eventually taking a two-point lead with 2:18 remaining in the game.

Maryville was unable to hold on from there though as the Vikings scored eight straight to retake the lead and hold it through the end of the contest.

The Scots were playing shorthanded for much of the contest as
Charlie Cochran played a season-low 14 minutes because of early foul trouble. Cochran quickly picked up three fouls which limited him to 6:44 in the first half. While he was able to impact the second half more, a fourth foul limited him still to just 7:50 in the final 20 minutes of play. Coming into tonight's contest, the senior was averaging 30.6 minutes per game.

Myles Rasnick picked up 11 points, six rebounds, and a team-high three assists while also recording two steals.

In his first career start,
Jackson Garner went 3-for-5 from three and recorded a career-high 13 points.

Maryville was outrebounded 42-32 in this contest including 13-8 on offensive rebounds but still managed to outscore the Vikings 15-2 in second-chance points.

The Scots return to action on Saturday when they travel to Murfreesboro, Tennessee to take on Division I Middle Tennessee State in an exhibition game. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. Central.
