DANVILLE, Ky. – Maryville burst from the gate Friday night and scored twice in the first half before allowing a pair of second-half goals in a 2-2 draw at Centre.

Both teams are now 0-2-1 on the young season.

Maryville's
William Bryan opened the scoring with his second goal of the season in the 18th minute. Bryan now has five goals in his first seven collegiate games played. He scored three times in four games last season before suffering a season-ending injury.

Brooklyn Muccillo made it 2-0 Scots with an unassisted tally in the 40th minute. It was Muccillo's first of the season and third of the sophomore's career.

The second half opened up a bit more with Maryville attempting 11 shots and Centre 10. But it was the Colonels who found the net with goals in the 59th and 69th minutes to draw level.

The teams played even over the final 20 minutes and ended 2-2. Both teams had corner-kick opportunities in the last five minutes but could not convert. Corners favored Centre 3-2.

Shots were even 16-16, with Maryville owning a 53 percent to 47 percent possession edge.

The match highlighted Day 1 of the Bob Allen Nissan Classic. No. 17 Kenyon knocked off Spalding 8-2 in the afternoon contest.

After an off day, play continues Sunday with Maryville taking on Spalding (1-2-0) at 1 p.m. Host Centre meets Kenyon in the second match.
