CCS Release
MARYVILLE – Four Maryville Scots were named to the 2023 CCS Men's Soccer All-Conference Teams in a Wednesday release from the league office.
Noah Putman earned placement on the All-CCS First Team and the All-Sportsmanship Team, while
Hyatt MacDonald,
Craig McIlwraith and
Mykal Manfred are among the All-CCS Second Team selections.
Putman on defense helped the Scots allow just 1.35 goals per match, which is third in the league. The senior from Old Hickory started all 16 matches he played and saw action in 13 matches of the full 90 minutes, finishing with an average of 86.2 minutes.
MacDonald in his rookie season is the team leader and third in the conference with eight goals. The Franklin product also leads the Scots and ranks fourth in conference with 17 points. He scored single goals in eight different matches and started all 17 matches, averaging 65.1 minutes.
McIlwraith is the Maryville team leader and tied for third in league with seven assists. The junior from Peachtree City, Georgia, ranks second on the team with 11 points and is tied for second with two goals. He started all 17 matches and averaged 60.5 minutes. Playing from the midfield, McIlwraith is also helping support the Scots defensive effort.
Manfred stands second in the league with a .777 save percentage and he's also second with 5.33 saves per game. The Gallatin senior posted five shutouts this season, including back-to-back to end the regular season. He enters the playoffs riding a current streak of 183 minutes and 51 seconds since last allowing a goal.
The Scots are in action Wednesday night at Piedmont in the CCS Men's Soccer Tournament quarterfinals. Start time is 6 p.m.
