SEWANEE, Tenn. – Maryville took a midweek road trip to middle Tennessee to face off against in-state rival Sewanee, where they fell 2-0 Tuesday night.
The Scots played a competitive matchup for the full 90 minutes but were unable to hold the strong Tiger offense which outshot MC 19-3.
Sewanee opened the scoring early, finding the back of the net in the 7th minute off the foot of Brianna Fee. She was assisted on the goal by Maggie O'Hare.
The Tigers scored again in the 27th this time from Samantha Ferry, assisted by Fee.

Sophie Turner faced a season-high 19 shots, recording five saves which marks her second-highest sinle-game save total of the season.
The Scots are now 5-2-3 this season. They return to conference play Thursday afternoon with a matchup against Wesleyan on the road. Kick off is scheduled for 5 p.m.
