Maryville opens the 2023-24 season at the Chuck Resler Tournament, hosted by Rochester. The Scots take on Rowan, with Rochester and Wooster meeting in Friday's other game. Winners and losers play each other Saturday. The Scots are the preseason pick to win a second consecutive Collegiate Conference of the South crown. Last year, Maryville was the preseason pick, and then the Scots swept both the regular season and tournament titles en route to an 18-8 record. Both the Scots and Profs are receiving votes in the D3hoops.com Preseason Top 25. Sophomore guard Jackson Garner returns as the team's leading scorer at 10.0.

Maryville faces off Friday afternoon against a tough Huntingdon squad in a CCS Semifinal matchup hosted by Covenant on Lookout Mountain. The Scots are 1-1 against Huntingdon this season, winning in five sets in their first meeting before falling in three at home in late October. MC is coming off a dominant win over Belhaven Tuesday night. The Scots defeated the Blazers in three sets by scores of 25-12, 25-22 and 25-16. Against Belhaven, Reese Bailey finished with seven kills and a .778 hitting percentage on nine total attacks.
