MC is back in action Saturday for its second of three-straight weekend tournaments to kick of the 2023-24 season. This weekend they face Berry and Swarthmore in Atlanta. The Scots are coming off a strong 1-1 opening weekend in Rocky Mount, N.C. Maryville defeated Methodist 47-43 before falling to 2022-23 national runner-up Christopher Newport 84-60.

It's a Central time week for the Scots as they continue a road swing at the Webster Classic. Maryville knocked off Sewanee on Wednesday night 73-70 behind a career-high 22 points from Chase Morgan. Morgan is the team's early scoring leader at 15.0. All three Maryville opponents thus far played in the NCAA tournament a year ago. The Scots are the preseason pick to win a second consecutive Collegiate Conference of the South crown. Last year, Maryville was the preseason pick, and then the Scots swept both the regular season and tournament titles en route to an 18-8 record.
