MARYVILLE – Maryville opened up Collegiate Conference of the South Competition on Saturday with a 7-2 loss to Belhaven.
The Scots picked up victories at No. 3 doubles and No. 3 singles. The Duo of
Sam Cocchia and
Seth Green took down their opponents 8-3. They are now 3-1 as partners this season.
Jonathan Crane was the Scots' lone singles winner, picking up victories of 6-4 and 7-5 over Belhaven's Bryce Livingston. Crane has improved to 4-6 on the season in singles play, tied with
Josh Fisher for the most victories of any individual on the squad.
Maryville is now 4-6 on the season while Belhaven improves to 4-3.
The Scots return to action on Tuesday in a CCS matchup against Piedmont. The match will kick off at 3 p.m.
