DANVILLE, Ky. – Maryville on Friday played the first of back-to-back matches in Kentucky and suffered a 9-0 defeat to Centre.
The host Colonels won 8-3, 8-2 and 8-3 at the three doubles positions, and then won all the singles matches in straight sets.
Josh Fisher put up a fight at No. 3 singles, losing his second set 6-4. And
Jonathan Crane at No. 1 singles was able to secure three games over his two sets.
Centre with the victory improved to 8-9, while Maryville drops to 5-10.
The Scots return to Collegiate Conference of the South action Saturday at Berea. Start time is noon.
