Play Continues at Labor Day Classic

Maryville Falls to Unbeaten Hanover; Two More Matches Sunday

MARYVILLE – Undefeated Hanover dealt Maryville a 3-0 setback in Saturday's action at the Maryville College Labor Day Classic.

Maryville fell by the scores of 25-21, 25-15 and 25-13.

The first two sets were very competitive, with a combined 15 ties and five lead changes before Hanover pulled away in the final set. The Scots were on top 18-13 in Set 1 after a Hanover timeout and an ensuing Panthers attack error. But Hanover closed on a 12-3 run to grab the set and never looked back.

The Panthers completed their stay in East Tennessee 3-0 to match Sewanee (4-0) as the only undefeated teams over the weekend.
