LaGRANGE – Maryville opened Collegiate Conference of the South play Saturday afternoon with a 2-0 loss to reigning CCS regular season champion LaGrange.
 
This is the first loss to LaGrange since at least 2011. The Scots now sit at 15-1-1 against the Panthers since October 8 of that year.
 
The Panthers Enrique Hernandez scored both goals for LaGrange. He gave them the lead with a penalty kick goal in the 19th minute and then found the back of the net for some insurance in the 84th minute of play.
 
Maryville was outshot by LaGrange 16-8. 
Craig McIlwraith led the Scots with three shots in the contest.
 
The Corner kick margin was tied at 5-5

The Scots look to bounce back Saturday with a CCS matchup on the road against Belhaven. Kick off for that contest is scheduled for 2 p.m. Central.
