JACKSON, Miss. – Maryville held Belhaven Scoreless on the road to secure a 0-0 draw in Jackson, Mississippi Saturday afternoon.
The Scots bounced back from a 2-0 loss to LaGrange on September 23 to record a draw against a strong Belhaven squad on the road.
The Blazers outshot MC 12-3 in the game, including a 9-2 second half, but Maryville's defense and goalkeeper
Mykal Manfred held strong and kept the ball out of the net for all 90 minutes of play.
Despite Belhaven's shot advantage in the second half, only two of its nine second-half shots were on target.
First-year
Tucker Smith led the Scots with two shots in the contest.
MC has a quick turnaround, facing off against CCS opponent Berea at home on Tuesday. Kick off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Maryville Soccer Complex.
