LEXINGTON, Ky. – Maryville's defense continued its stellar play Thursday afternoon, playing to a 0-0 draw against Transylvania.
The Scots have allowed just one goal in three games played this season and have recorded back-to-back shutouts.
Despite being unable to find the back of the net in this contest, MC outshot the Pioneers 12-6, led by three shots apiece from
Madison McDonald and
Katie O'Brien.
"It was a really good game," Maryville head coach
Pepe Fernandez said. "We created so many opportunities and moved the ball really well."
The Scots also had an advantage in corner kicks, recording seven compared to just one from Transylvania.

Sophie Turner recorded two saves, bringing her total on the season to five with an .833 save percentage.
The Scots are back in action Friday afternoon, as they travel to Piedmont to compete in the Bradford Classic. They face Meredith at 5 p.m. and then take on Guilford on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
