20 for the Scots

Maryille Sweeps Agnes Scott, LaGrange

DECATUR, Ga. – Maryville capped off its conference schedule with two sweeps on Saturday afternoon, handing 3-0 defeats to Agnes Scott and LaGrange. Set scores were 25-14, 25-18, and 25-9 against Agnes Scott and 25-19, 25-19, and 25-20 versus LaGrange.

Sophomore Dakota Vaiese recorded 15 assists against Agnes Scott, reaching 1,000 for her career.

"We are really proud of her," MC head coach Brienna Laskowski said. "She works harder than anyone I know and has earned every bit of it. It's a big accomplishment to achieve in only two seasons, and I can guarantee she's not done yet!"

Vaiese 1,000

Vaiese and Leeann Maysonet Robles led the Scots' setting game in the absence of Megan Fairburn, who was sidelined by an illness. Maryville didn't miss a beat, with Robles posting a .444 hitting percentage and adding eight service aces against Agnes Scott.

"Leeann was awesome for us today," Laskowski said. "She played calm and composed, running her offense like an upperclassman. Her calmness made the transition seamless."

Down But Not Out

Maryville then shifted focus to the Panthers in what proved to be a scrappy match. The Scots found themselves trailing 10-2 in the second set before rallying to secure a 25-19 win. Laskowski credited the comeback to the team regrouping after a key timeout.

"We just told the girls to settle and focus on one point at a time," Laskowski said. "Once they regrouped, they were hard to stop."

Cailin Mastropasqua continued her strong season with a double-double, tallying 14 kills and 11 digs. Landry Frisch followed with nine kills.

The Scots improved to 20-8 overall and 13-3 in conference play, clinching the second seed in the upcoming CCS tournament. Maryville returns home Tuesday for its final home match of the season against Sewanee at 7 p.m.
