HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Maryville kicked off the 2024 Spring Break Tennis Fest with a matchup against Cornell College at the Van Der Meer Tennis Academy. The Scots fell to the Rams 7-2.
Maryville picked up its two points on the No. 4 and No. 5 singles courts.
Alyssa Smith, competing at No. 4 singles, won her match 6-4, 6-3 while
Mia Brown picked up a strong win at No. 5, 7-6, 6-2.
Mia Brown and Alyssa Shwaiko put up a tough fight at No. 1 doubles, falling 8-5. Shwaiko also played a competitive match at No. 2 singles, falling 7-5, 6-3.
Maryville returns to action Monday morning with a chance to bounce back against Webster at the Hilton Head Resort. The match will begin at 8:30 a.m.
