HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Maryville got back in the win column Monday morning, picking up a 7-2 victory over Webster on Day 2 of the Spring Break Tennis Fest at the Hilton Head Resort.
The Scots opened up the match with a dominant sweep of the three doubles matches. The Duo of Kaitlyn Cook and
Elizabeth Shwaiko down their opponents on the No. 1 court 8-3 while
Abby Diggs and
Alyssa Smith made quick work of their foes on the No. 2 court, also winning 8-3.
Mia Brown and
Mandy Webb rounded out the Scots double competitors on the No. 3 court, winning their match 8

Doug Corbett said. "I think the best performance so far this season! Love to see us get that doubles sweep and get the momentum."
Shwaiko recorded a point for MC at No. 1 singles, taking down her opponent 6-3, 6-1. Cook, Smith, and Brown rounded out the scoring for Maryville, picking up points at No. 2, No. 4, and No. 5, respectively.
At No. 4, Smith won a very competitive match 7

3, 6-3, impressing her coach after moving to 3-0 in the No. 4 spot and 7-5 overall.
"I'm really proud of Alyssa," Corbett said. "We have been making some changes. Instead of reverting to old habits when things haven't gone right, she has shown patience and worked through it. That has paid off and is showing in her play lately."
Smith has won three straight singles matches, the longest current streak on the squad.
The Scots have one more bout on their spring break trip, facing off against St. Mary's (Md.) on Wednesday. That match kicks off at 1:30 p.m. at the Hilton Head Beach & Tennis Club.
