MARYVILLE – Maryville continued rolling Sunday afternoon, defeating Agnes Scott 7-2 Here at the MC Tennis Courts for its fourth-straight victory and its second CCS victory of the season.
The Scots kicked off the match with a sweep of doubles competition. At No. 1 duos,
Katelyn Cook and
Elizabeth Shwaiko picked up an 8-2 victory. The pairs of
Abby Diggs and
Alyssa Smith (No. 2) and
Mia Brown and
Mandy Webb (No. 3) both picked up victories of 8-0.
Diggs and Smith improved to a team-best 7-1 as a pair on the No. 2 court.
At No. 1 singles, Shwaiko defeated her opponent 6-1, 6-0. Cook handled her opponent on the No. 2 court 6-1, 6-1 while Smith picked up a 6-0, 6-4 victory at the No. 3 position.
Abby Diggs rounded out the Scots scoring at No. 4 singles, picking up the victory 6-1, 6-0.
Cook is now tied for the longest active winning streak on the squad, winning her fourth-straight match. Diggs is right behind her, picking up her third consecutive match with her victory.
The Scots are back in action for the second of their three-match homestand, taking on Roanoke in a nonconference matchup at the MC Tennis Courts. Start time for that match is scheduled for Noon.
