MARYVILLE – Maryville topped CCS-foe Berea 7-2 Saturday afternoon on the MC Tennis Courts, stretching its winning streak to six games and improving to 3-0 in league play.
The Scots won all seven matches they played, only conceding two points to the Mountaineers because of forfeits due to illnesses leaving Maryville shorthanded.
MC dominated in doubles play, winning both matches 8-0.
Abby Diggs and
Elizabeth Shwaiko combined for the victory on the No. 1 Court while Kaitlyn Cook and
Alyssa Smith picked up the victory at No. 2
Shwaiko also picked up a victory at No. 1 singles, making quick work of her opponent 6-1, 6-0. Cook picked up the victory at No. 2, matching Shwaiko's score 6-1, 6-0.
Smith continued her strong season on the No. 3 court, winning her match 6-1, 6-2. Diggs won her team-high fifth straight singles bout, conquering her opponent with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep at No. 4 singles.
Mandy Webb rounded out the winning for MC, winning her second match of the season at No. 5, 6-2, 6-0.
Maryville is back on the road on Saturday, this time facing off against CCS-foe Huntingdon in Montgomery, Alabama. Start time is scheduled for 3 p.m. Central.
