Maryville begins the 2025 portion of their indoor track & field seasons with both teams competing at the Finn Pincus Invitational hosted by Roanoke. The Friday schedule of events includes four running events and two field events. The Maryville rosters consist of 19 women student-athletes and 32 student-athletes on the men's ledger under Director of Track & Field Kunle Lawson in his third season leading the rejuvenated program. In December, the teams competed at the Mountain Goat Invitational, hosted by Sewanee. The men finished second with 92 points overall and the women finished third, with both sides winning numerous individual meets and setting PRs. Landen Parker finished first in the 55m hurdles, recording a PR of 8.75 seconds. John Siepert. Ty Hylwa, and Jacob Faulkner all also finished with PRs, rounding out the top four finishers for the event. Faulkner led the Scots in scoring with 21 points. On the women's side, Hailee Hardman won the high jump competition and Lauren Myers took first place in the weight throw, setting a PR along the way. Maryville finished with three of the top four finishers in the high jump, with Liz Rouse and Mandy Webb finishing third and fourth, both setting PRs. Abbey Cox also finished with a PR in weight throw, and Rachel Dunbar set one of her own in shot put. Rouse and Hardman both scored 19 points for the Scots, leading the way for the team's 81 overall points.Â

Coming off a heartbreaking loss on Tuesday night, Maryville looks to bounce back against a LaGrange squad that sits at 2-2 in CCS play so far this season. The Scots' second-half surge fell just short of a miraculous comeback as they fell at home to Asbury 69-61. Senior ForwardÂ
Emma Huskey led the charge for Maryville, scoring a career-high 18 points on 8-of-14 shooting, with nine rebounds, four assists and three blocks to add to the totals. Despite Huskey's season-best efforts, MC couldn't get over the finish line and secure the comeback victory. MC won the last meeting between the two teams 78-69 on Feb. 2 of last year, and leads the overall series with the Panthers 26-8.

The Scots are riding a six-game winning streak heading into their match up with LaGrange, having defeated Asbury 100-61 their last time out.Â
Reed Kemp paced the scoring column with 21 points thanks to 5-of-8 from 3-point range. The Franklin native has scored 813 with the Scots, meaning he still has a great chance to join the list of 1,000-point scorers in Maryville men's basketball history.Â
Chase Morgan at 808 and
Jackson Garner at 788 are making it a fun three-way race to 1K. Kemp is up to 48.4 percent from long distance, ranking among the top 10 nationally in that category. He leads the CCS with 44 made threes, followed closely by teammateÂ
Jackson Garner with 41. Tuesday's win was Maryville's14th consecutive win against a CCS opponent. MC has won four in a row against LaGrange, and leads the all-time series 49-14.
