Coming off an impressive win against Huntingdon, the Scots look to continue to improve as they host conference leader Piedmont (11-5, 7-0). The Lions are winners of six in a row and are undefeated in conference play.
Last time out, Junior guard
Ella Haney had a career night, totaling a double-double for the fourth time in her career (first of the season), scoring 29 points and grabbing 12 rebounds, along with three steals. "It was a great, great game for her." Head Coach
Darrin Travillian said.Â
"There were a couple of times today where my whole message at the breaks was, 'We have to have someone make some basketball plays for us," Travillian shared.Â
"(Haney) stepped up and did that, on the offensive end with 29 points, and also defensively. Grabbing 12 boards was equally big because we had to limit their second-chance opportunities."
The Scots are averaging 56.8 PPG while Piedmont is averaging 70.2 while giving up 63.3 PPG. This should be a great match up to see how Maryville holds up against the best in the conference. The two teams split last season's match ups, with the Scots winning at home and falling at Piedmont.Â

Reed Kemp with his 21 points eclipsed 1,000 for his collegiate career last week against Huntingdon. The Franklin native scored a combined 157 points during his first two seasons at Missouri Western. He has scored 859 in two seasons with the Scots, giving him 1,016 for his four-year NCAA career.
The senior was 2-for-3 from 3-point distance, boosting his season percentage to an even 50 percent (49-of-98) from downtown and keeping himself ranked among the top five nationally in that category.
