AFCA Release
MARYVILLE, Tenn. - Coach Fox's Scots are ranked in the AFCA (American Football Coaches Assosiations) top-25 for the first time in program history after a historical start to the 2025 season. The Scots, 5-0 for the first time since 1977, entered the poll in week six after defeating Centre 33-13 on Homecoming. MC is also ranked #10 in the NPI (NCAA Power Index).Â
This marks a trend of record-setting for the football program. Starting QB
Bryson Rollins broke the school record for passing yards in a game (502) against Pikeville, and now has passed for over 10,000 yards in his Maryville career. Rollins leads the SAA in yards, touchdowns, and efficiency, and in the NCAA rankings is second in passing yards per game, third in total offense per game, fourth in points responsible for, fifth in total passing yards, sixth in passing touchdowns, and sixth in passing efficiency. Receiver
Steph Carter Jr. ranks ninth in receiving yards per game, and 10th in receiving yards overall.Â

"With UMHB and Muhlenberg dropping out of the poll, it allowed Berry to re-enter at No. 21 and Maryville to enter the AFCA Top 25 for the first time in program history. The Scots, ranked No. 25, are 5-0 and are tied with Berry atop the Southern Athletic Association standings."
The Scots travel to Jackson, Miss. this weekend to face Millsaps in another SAA showdown.Â
