MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Maryville struck first Saturday afternoon, but Berry answered with 36 straight points as the Scots fell 36–7 in SAA play at Valhalla Stadium.
Maryville (7–2, 4–2 SAA) opened the day with its strongest drive, marching 80 yards on 12 plays. Bryson Rollins capped the series with a 5-yard touchdown pass to Jalen McCullough for a 7–0 lead at the 2:15 mark of the first quarter.
From there, Berry 8–1, 6–0 SAA) controlled the game on the ground, rushing for 243 yards and five touchdowns. The Vikings took a 15–7 halftime lead behind two short scores from Andrew Hunter, then extended the margin with three second-half touchdown runs, including a 59-yard breakaway by Colby Sikes early in the fourth.
Rollins finished 17-of-27 for 196 yards and a touchdown. McCullough caught four passes for 62 yards, while Steph Carter added three receptions for 41 yards. Jermaine Abner led the Scots on the ground with 33 rushing yards.
Mark Collier paced the Maryville defense with seven tackles, and Aiden Relthford forced and recovered a fumble in the third quarter.
Maryville closes its regular season next Saturday against #23 Trinity at home.
