Maryville wrapped up its North Carolina road trip by losing both ends of a doubleheader Sunday, falling 7-3 and 11-7 to a solid Greensboro team.
The Scots scored single runs in the top of the first inning of both games, and both times Greensboro rallied for a four-spot in its half of the first to put Maryville on the back foot.
In Game 1, Maryville fell behind 7-1 before scoring twice in the fifth. One of those runs came home on a
Tate Romero RBI-single, while Maryville's other two runs in the game scored on wild pitches.
In the nightcap, the Scots after that 4-1 deficit bounced right back in the second on
Paige Dickinson's two-run single. But Greensboro responded with seven runs in the second to push the score to 11-3. Maryville extended the game with a run in the fourth on a
Brecca Williams RBI-base hit before the Scots scored three times in the seventh to narrow the final margin.
Randolph sits at 0-10 on the year while Maryville fell to 4-10 with the losses.
