The Scots split their opening conference series with Asbury after winning the first game in shutout fashion 7-0 and dropping the finale 11-4. Sophomore Tia Stewart shined for the Scots as she pitched a complete seven-inning game where she allowed only one hit (in the top of the seventh). Stewart faced 23 batters and struck out six of them, walking only one.

Maryville jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning thanks to a Ryleigh Maples double that scored Olivia Harris and Brecca Williams, after Williams singled to left field and Harris doubled to left field the previous at-bat. Tate Romero would bring home Ashtyn Barga on a hard hit single to center field in the bottom of the third to put the scotch up 4-0. They would go on to win 7-0.

The finale of the series didn't have much favoring the Scots through the first five innings, after going down 8-1. Ryleigh Maples would bring home Paige Dickinson in the bottom of the third on a double to left field for the only run for the Scots through those innings. The bottom of the fifth saw some life spark into MC, as Maples would hit a de facto inside-the-park home run, bringing three runs after doubling to left field and then advancing home on an error by the short stop. She scored Brecca Williams and Jessica Harris on the play as well. 8-4 Asbury. The Eagles would counter back all three runs scored by Maryville, as they scored thrice in the top of the sixth on a sac fly to right field and then a two-run homer to go up 11-4, which proved to be the nail in the coffin for the Scots.

With the split, Maryville now sits at 7-13 and 1-1 on the year while Asbury improved to 8-6, 1-3.

Huntingdon comes to town owning a 19-2 overall record and having won seven games in-a-row.

The Scots' story on Saturday was a forgettable first game and a dominant second. They split the twin bill with the Bears, losing 16-0 in the first game and prevailing 7-1 in the second.

In the second game, starting pitcher Nic Mirabella pitched nine full innings, allowing only one run on six hits, and striking out eight. This marked the senior's first complete game of his career (his previous mark was 7.1 innings). Mirabella's ERA now sits at 5.61 for the season, second on the team.

First baseman Frank Derner was the Scots' offensive star. He went three for five in the game, scoring one run, having two RBI, and hitting a double. His hits in the game brought his total to 28 for the year, having hits in all but three games this season, including seven multi-hit games.

Four doubles in the first five at-bats in the top of the sixth for the Scots would bring in three runs, putting them up 4-1. Frank Derner led off the inning with a double to left field. Cody Meier would then double after Daniel Montaña ground out to the shortstop. Meier would bring home Derner on the play. Make it five doubles on the year for Zach Devries, who added his name to the list in the inning with a hit to right field, bringing in Meier. Junior Brayden Evans hit his second double of the season to left-center field, plating Devries and putting the Scots up 4-1. It was Frank Derner again in the seventh inning who singled to right field, scoring Colin Dunworth, again. Daniel Montaña would hit into a double play the next at-bat but would score Ashton Whiteaker from third after Whiteaker reached base on a well-executed bunt earlier in the inning. 6-1 Scots. Reece Jordan would bring in his 19th RBI of the season in the top of the eighth, plating Brayden Evans to put the Scots to their final tally of 7-1.

With the split, Maryville improves to 15-6 on the year while Wash U. now sits at 12-5.
