CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The Fighting Scots took down Covenant 4-0 in the quarterfinals of the CCS Tournament to advance and face top overall seed Piedmont.
Maryville defeated the Covenant Scots 4-0, winning the double point and three straight singles sets to end the match.
Abby Diggs and
Alyssa Smith took down the duo of Estee Verdery and Christina English 6-2, winning the doubles point for Maryville after Covenant did not field a doubles team at the No. 3 spot and
Jasmine Muecke and
Josie McRae winning by default.
Elizabeth Shwaiko and
Calliana Kondolios did not finish their match at the No. 1 spot before the Scots sealed the point.
Alyssa Smith won the first singles set for Maryville, defeating Zoe Giuntoli 6-2, 6-1 at the three spot.
Jasmine Muecke was next, taking down Christina English 6-2, 6-1 as well.
Josie McRae was uncontested at the six spot, winning by forfeit and securing the match for Maryville.
Elizabeth Shwaiko and
Calliana Kondolios were both winning at the time the match was called, and Diggs had not started hers.
Piedmont is the top overall seed in the tournament, finishing the regular season 7-0 in conference play and 20-2 overall. They defeated Maryville 7-0 back on March 22nd.
