Cox Named CCS Rookie of the Year

Scots Put Six on All-CCS Team for Women’s Track & Field

MARYVILLE - Freshman Field Star Abbey Cox has been named the CCS Track and Field Rookie of the Year. 

Cox had a standout freshman year, earning CCS Field Athlete of the Week twice, and Rookie of the Week once. Cox reached the podium in three events at the CCS Championship, placing second in both the discus (34.67m) and hammer (39.23m), and third in the shot put (10.33m). 

Her breakout season featured multiple personal bests throughout the regular season, highlighted by a win in the discus at the Landon Bond Classic (36.67m) and a runner-up finish in the shot put at the Tornado Classic (11.17m)

Cox also earned two All-CCS Second Team honors (discus, hammer) and one Third Team honor (shot put).

She was joined in All-CCS honors by Rachel Dunbar (second team, shot put), Hailee Hardman (third team, high jump), Alana Rodriguez (third team, long jump), and Maddy McClellan (All-Sportsmanship Team).
