MARYVILLE - Head softball coach
Jill Moore has announced she will be stepping down from her position and will be moving on to a Division I collegiate coaching opportunity.
Moore leaves the Scots after three seasons with an 85-48 record overall, and a 34-14 record in CCS play. Her team received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament in year two, marking one of the best seasons in school history.Â
"I want to thank all the amazing women I had the privilege to coach and lead, you all have a very special place in my heart," Moore said. "My time at Maryville College has been filled with excitement, growth, and some unforgettable moments. I'm proud of what our players achieved together and grateful for the chance to coach a group of young women who gave everything they had for the orange and garnet."
Athletics Director Andrew Wu will lead the search for a new head softball coach, beginning immediately.Â
"I want to thank Coach Moore for her contributions to the Softball program and Maryville College," Wu said. "We're extremely proud of the team's accomplishments under her leadership and wish her all the best in her next role."
He continued,Â
"I'm excited to start the search for our next Softball Head Coach and have the utmost confidence that we'll attract an elite pool of candidates eager to continue advancing the program."
