MARYVILLE, Tenn. –Scots men's soccer came up short against unbeaten Emory on Friday night, 7–1, but found positives to build on despite the tough outcome.
Ben Brophy provided the Scots' highlight with a well-taken goal in the 49th minute, his first of the season. Offensively, Nick Jackson and Keith McGregor added shots to keep pressure on the Eagles' back line.
In goal, Tanner Ricks turned in a strong performance under heavy fire, recording 12 saves and keeping Maryville within striking distance for much of the match. Defender Will Gallaher played a full 90-minute match, contributing valuable minutes to the team, along with defenders Jacob Brabson and Jacob Knight who also fought hard with over 60 minutes played each.
The Scots (2-2-3) will have a quick turnaround to face LeTourneau at 5:00 PM tomorrow.
