MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Women's basketball opened the 2026 CCS slate with a 66–56 road loss at Huntingdon on Friday afternoon at Roland Arena.
The Scots stayed within striking distance throughout the first half before Huntingdon used a strong third quarter to create separation. Maryville showed resilience in the fourth, outscoring the Hawks 23–21, but was unable to fully close the gap.
Emily Wilson led the Scots with 18 points, knocking down three three-pointers and pacing the offense for the majority of the afternoon. Leighan Jackson provided a strong spark off the bench with 11 points and a team-high six rebounds, while Ella Haney added 10 points and six boards in the effort.
Maryville finished with 22 bench points and controlled much of the paint, but Huntingdon capitalized at the free-throw line and during key stretches in the second half.
The Scots return to action tomorrow as they continue conference play against LaGrange.
