Wu Announces McCord as Assistant AD

Hired as Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Event Management

MARYVILLE, Tenn. – Maryville College Director of Athletics Dr. Andrew Wu announced the hiring of Jeff McCord as Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Event Management, effective immediately.

McCord transitions into the role after spending the past seven seasons as an assistant coach with the Maryville College men's basketball program. A former Scot student-athlete, McCord played under legendary head coach Randy Lambert and is a proud alumnus of the institution, giving him a deep understanding of the College's traditions, expectations, and commitment to excellence.

"I had the pleasure of working closely with Jeff last year and consistently observed his organization, attention to detail, and unwavering commitment to Maryville College Athletics," Wu said. "Jeff is universally respected within our department and brings a unique blend of coaching experience, institutional knowledge, and leadership. He will be a valuable addition to our senior staff, and his skill set will be a major asset as we continue to evolve and advance our athletic facilities and game-day operations."

In his new role, McCord will oversee athletic facilities management, event operations, and game-day logistics for all 17 varsity sports. He will work closely with campus partners to ensure a first-class experience for student-athletes, coaches, officials, and fans, while supporting the continued growth and strategic vision of Maryville College Athletics.

McCord expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the program in a new capacity.

"Maryville College has always felt like home to me," McCord said. "I played here, graduated from here, and have been fortunate to coach here for the past seven seasons. Being able to step into this role and give back to the place that gave me so much is incredibly meaningful. I'm excited to continue serving our student-athletes and to be part of what's next for Maryville College Athletics."

McCord's appointment reinforces Maryville College Athletics' commitment to operational excellence, internal leadership development, and enhancing the overall student-athlete experience.
