ATLANTA, Ga. / MOUNT BERRY, Ga. — The Maryville College women's soccer team wrapped up a two-match road trip this weekend, falling to Oglethorpe University, 4-0, on Friday before earning a 1-1 draw against Berry College on Sunday.

The Scots opened the weekend Friday in Atlanta, where Oglethorpe scored once in the first half and added three second-half goals to secure the 4-0 victory.

Maryville goalkeeper Paige Silva recorded six saves in the contest as the Scots worked to slow the Stormy Petrels' attack. Maryville finished with 12 shots, including eight on target. Katie Cotten led the Scots with four shots, all of which were on goal.

Maryville responded with a strong effort Sunday at Berry, earning a 1-1 draw against the Vikings.

The Scots struck first in the 33rd minute when Regan Boyd found the back of the net at the 32:24 mark of the opening half. The unassisted goal was Boyd's sixth of the season and gave Maryville a 1-0 advantage heading into halftime.

Maryville maintained its lead through much of the second half before Berry found the equalizer in the 83rd minute. Gianna Maimone converted a penalty kick at 82:27 to even the match at 1-1.

Silva played the entire 90 minutes in goal for Maryville, finishing with five saves against the Vikings. The Scots outshot Berry 16-11 and held an 11-6 advantage in shots on goal. Katie Cotten led Maryville with four shots, while Ruby Saylor, Addison Baggett, and Katie Corley each recorded two attempts.

Boyd's goal marked her sixth of the season, while the draw moved the Scots to 6-5-5 overall and 3-4-1 in Southern Athletic Association play.

Maryville will look to build on Sunday's result as up next for the Scots is the SAA Tournament. MC will face the three seeded Sewanee Tigers on Thursday, November 5 in the first round of the tournament.
