Scots Speed into Multiple School Records, Personal Bests at SAA Indoors

DANVILLE, Ky. – Maryville College's own Lady Scots Track & Field continued their indoor season at the SAA Indoor Track and Field Championship. While placing 7th overall with a total of 8 points, the women's team posted multiple new personal bests as well as breaking 8 school records.

Abbey Cox threw for 15.38m in the weight throw, placing 3rd overall and the highest event placement on the team this weekend. 

In jumps,
Kaitlyn Snodgrass posted two personal bests with her 4.61m long jump (16th) and 10.15m triple jump (12th). Maddie Adair set a new school record in the triple jump, recording 10.39m for a 10th place finish.

Records were breaking left and right on the track.  Megan Shinn's 19:15.78 time in the 5000m set a new school record and secured her 11th place, and her 11:06.89 time in the 3000m broke yet another school record and got her a 14th place finish. Charlotte Wilson and Catherine Money both also set personal bests in the 3000m with their 12:15.10 (21st) and 12:26.92 (22nd) times respectively. Wilson (6:05.82, 14th) and Money (6:13.49, 16th) also recorded personal bests in the mile. Adair set a new school record in the 400m with a 1:04.12 time and a 16th place finish.

In the 60m hurdles, Shelby Walker smashed her own personal best and the school record with her 10.69 sec time (13th).  Alana Rodriguez also set a school record with a  8.27 sec 12th place finish in the 60m, and Caitlin Gravatt recorded a personal best with a 8.77 second time (18th).

The record breaking continued in the relays, with Wilson, Adair, Shinn, and  Emma Lathinghouse recording a school record in the distance medley relay, clocking in at 14:10.19, placing 8th overall. Gravatt, Snodgrass, Walker, and Adair also set a school record in the 4x400m, resulting in a 4:32.18 time and another 8th place finish.

The Scots will continue their indoor season with the Indoor Final Qualifier at Centre College in Danville, Ky. on March 6-7, and they will begin their outdoor season on March 7th at the Victor Ice Breaker Duals in Rome, Ga.
