LAGRANGE, Ga. - Maryville women's tennis team battled valiantly in their conference matchup against LaGrange College on March 29th. Despite the circumstances of the postponed match, the Scots garnered a win 5-2 to move their record to 5-5.
Doubles got the Scots started on the right foot. #1 doubles pair Calliana Kondolios and Mckena Spencer battled their way to a 6-3 win to clinch the doubles point, and #2 pair Josie McRae and Jasmine Muecke completed the sweep by winning their match 6-4, putting the Scots up 1-0 in the overall match.
Singles was more of the same for the Scots. Spencer kicked off the singles matches with a win at the #3 slot 6-1, 6-2 to put the Scots up 3-0. Then, Muecke blanked her opponent at #4 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 scoreline, clinching the match for the Scots. Maggie Hackney also steamrolled her opponent at #5 singles, winning 6-1, 6-0 and capping the day off with a 5-2 overall win for Maryville.
The next match for the Scots is another conference matchup against Covenant College on April 1st, with Maryville looking to continue their recent success against them.
