MARYVILLE, Tenn. – The Maryville Scots split their Friday slate at the tournament in Columbus, falling to Transylvania 4-0 in the opener before bouncing back with an 11-7 offensive surge against DePauw in game two.

The split moves the Scots to 10-4 overall on the season as Maryville combined for 11 runs and 11 hits across the two contests.

Game one was a tight defensive battle through the first four innings before Transylvania broke through in the fifth. The Pioneers strung together timely hits in the frame, scoring four runs to take control of the contest.

Maryville collected three hits in the game, coming from Sydney Dickinson, Jessica Harris, and Catie Zani, but the Scots were unable to push a run across despite several opportunities on the bases.
